Arlington, Va., Jan. 20, 2025 – The Essential Minerals Association (EMA) congratulates President Trump on his inauguration as President of the United States. EMA is excited to work with the President and his team to implement policies that will advance the nation’s ability to provide a stronger domestic source of essential minerals vital for our everyday lives.

“For far too long, the minerals industry in the United States has faced overly burdensome regulations hampering its ability to adequately supply the nation’s mineral needs. We have already been communicating with the President’s team and Congress on steps we believe will help strengthen our domestic supply chain by improving the current permitting system and lessening regulatory constraints that are preventing investment and growth,” said Chris Greissing, EMA president. “We look forward to working with the Trump Administration and Congress to find commonsense solutions to these issues and lessen our reliance on adversaries like China for the minerals that are critical to our economy and national security.”

Every sector of our economy relies on a variety of minerals to manufacture their end products. The products made possible by these minerals are a vital component of a stable and reliable supply chain crucial to our nation. End uses for these minerals are used in energy production and storage, transportation, national defense, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, agriculture and ranching, ceramic and glass, and sports and recreation. Virtually everything you see, touch, or use is made possible by the essential minerals.
