U.S. Legislation

U.S. Legislation

EMA tracks proposed or introduced legislation that may impact the operations of its members. We proactively meet with Members of Congress or their staff to express the Association’s position including any potential effects on production, siting, supply chains, employment, and end-use products. The EMA leadership and member company executives also present oral or written testimony to congressional committees and subcommittees on critical issues and legislation.

Throughout its history, EMA has brought myriad issues of importance to our industry to the attention of U.S. lawmakers (federal and state), often leading to the introduction and enactment of legislation. The Association frequently forms coalitions with other trade and industry representatives to advocate on behalf of new legislation.

EMA also distributes to its members position and legislative analysis reports on a wide range of legislative matters. When appropriate, these memorandums are issued to the press and posted on social media.
